i felt like we got distracted or at least i was starting to. i also felt like it wasn't that organized enough to make it actually work out but it also worked to have our groups talk through whats expected and seeing other peoples' words they came up with to explain how we can make our gym class better or more fun throughout the year.
I agree that some of us inclueding myself were getting distracted. It was going well until the organizing part came in thats the part where some of us were getting distracted. I think it was a good idea to write down some of the words we came up with but not all of them because what I think is that there were too many words on the list up on the board and some of us inclueding myself probably didn't want to write all them down or organize them into different catagories. We should though keep in mind that we are going to need to use most of those words through out this year to make the activities that Mr. H has for us work and fun to do.
I think the class was distracted. The groups we made were with our friends, so it felt more like a social hour. i think if we were randomly put into groups we would've been more focused. i kind of worked when we all came together to put other words into groups.
I agree that most of the class got distracted including myself. It was a Friday 7th hour and everyone was really chatting and not concentrating on putting the words into groups. We did well on the first part on getting the words together. We would have done better while working as a class or in groups that we don't know people well with. We were with our friends and chatting about random stuff than putting words in groups. On Monday we should try working as a class than in groups.
It is true taht most people were distracted and were socializing instead of working on organizing the words. It may have worked better if we had come out of the small groups at the end and come together as a full class to put the words in their groups.
I thought it was pretty chaotic. Everyone was pretty occupied and distracted with other things. And overall we all weren't cooperating and participating in the full value discussion. But maybe like we did we can split into groups but at the end we can gather as a whole class and sumamrize and restate the importance of these values and such. The groups were also mainly with the circle of our friends and I think that got us to wander and lose focus.
I liked the group ideas, I worked with a few people that I didn't know. My group did great, we went around crossing off the things that we all had, and came up with a pretty good list. I don't think the class was distracted, we just needed a more orderly system. Every group had good values, and we just need to put them all together to make four strong values for our class. I'm sure if we set it up in a different way, we could get four strong values, but trying to put every single value into a category was too time-consuming and confusing.
I thought that creating a contract was a very good idea, but we didn't do it in a very organized manner. Everyone was either talking at once, or having their own side conversations. I feel like it could have gone more smoothly if we all did own own separate category in our little groups of 5/6 because then there's less distractions and it's easier to hear everyone around you. When we did it as a whole, we lost interest and people stopped contributing.
I throught that the gym class is to work on teamwork. We all need to not explain about running the track or doing fitness. We dont need to yell at people who messed up. It's easier to listen to people first then to complained.
Doing a contract is a good idea, although when we worked in groups people were getting distracted including myself. There were times when people kind of lost interest and just had side conversations with the people in their groups. When we were trying to give answers we would all talk at once and it's harder for you and ourself to listen. -Magaly H.
id oa gree with alot of people about getting distracted. i'm starting to feel like were all still not warmed up to eachother, so were just sticking along with our groups that we know so we dont have to be with new people.
We definitely were distracting to ourselves and everyone else. Keeping in mind that it was Friday and almost the end of a long week, it's understandable. Everyone participated though and a lot of people got to know each other more and I know that everyone is getting closer.
I think there were a lot of people that didn't focus on what we were doing because we were in a classroom so they thought it wasn't that big of a deal. I thought it was good that we had some people that spoke up over the talking, but the fact that they were barely heard isn't so good. Even when were supposed to work in our group of six alone, it didn't go over so well.
I thought the class was distracted and didn't concentrate including myself. We got some good ideas, so we should discuss more about them. I think everyone can stay more focus.
I thought it was fine. When we finished what we were supposed to do we messed around. We could have gotten alot more done if we were more focused though. What ever, it was Friday.
I felt that the problem was that categorizing the qualities into groups was difficult for some. The directions were kind of unclear and many people were getting distracted. Eventually we started to understand and started placing the qualities into groups, but we wasted a lot of time since we weren't sure of what to do.
At first everything was running smoothly, but as the period progressed, kids started to get bored with the activity and we all started talking amongst our friends. When we were just working in our small groups was when we functioned the best because when we came together into one big group things started to get hectic.
When we started the activity it was going well. We split into equal groups and started working. It was when we came together as a class toe discuss. People were shouting out answers or trying to talk over other people. When we did it in our groups it worked. We need to work on taking turns talking as a class. People were getting distracted at the end. It seems like we keep doing the same things. I see why its important, it just gets old.
I feel like everyone just had way too much energy to be put into a tiny classroom and focus on one thing. We got distracted really easily and didn't really want to focus after a certain point.
I think that most groups wrote down words and talked about them, but then were given too much time inbetween and started to talk. Then when it came to grouping the words it was too late because eveyone was already talking.
I think all of us contributed some great ideas for the chart, although I think we couldve stayed more focused while creating the list. I think if we all really focused on the activity we definitely couldve gotten more done. Samantha Noga
I believe that our class is being sort of segregated. We have to be more open and willing to meet new people. People stick to their comfort level and only associate to the people they know. I'm sure that if we want to trust each other, we gotta get along with everyone. After all, you never know what you're missing from not knowing someone. ;)
Although all the groups seemed to have good ideas, it looked like we would kind of tend to lose focus We all seemed to be in and out. When we were focused though, the class seemed to have good ideas and thoughts to be put into the activity. If we all stayed more focus things may have turned out more finished and we would have had more discussion to put into this activity.
I agree with everyone, we all worked together well but after a while we got distracted and started talking to the people in our groups instead of paying attention and contributing in class. When it came down to coming together as a class it got pretty chaotic because people were shouting things out and you couldn't hear anyone. I think everyone did put in effort though.
I feel like there were good ideas put towards this contract but no one was really paying attention a lot. Though there was a lot of good effort put into this activity, not all of our ideas were heard and it was slightly unorganized. However, overall this contract is a good idea for our class.
I agree that everyone was distracted and unorganized... I know that some people didn't even know what was going on in the activities... But I also did enjoy working with people that I didn't know very well. I thought the idea of making the full value contract was good, but I also think that we weren't paying enough attention to it.
We were all a bit distracted. I myself was kind of lost at first to what we were doing and what the heck was going on. D; I believe it's a good activity for us to help idealize what our values are by spending time and categorize them, but I don't think everyone else believes so. They seem to just want to get it done, and over with. So, I hope to work on that in this class. _Brenda ^.^~
