I have some concerns with how we worked today, we need to figure out how to get everyone on the same page. My feeling is that we have some students in class that are not fully committed to the adventure process. If this is only me let me know. If not, then we need to figure out what we can do about this. please share your thoughts about this.
We need lot committing to the class so we can work as a team. We need lot of teamork and working as a team when we are doing a activite with othere people.

I feel like some people dont take it seriously, i feel like people also dont put all their effort even if they can and if not then they should always try to push themselves, creating goals would help. obviously this isnt that easy i also dont always reach goals nor push myself enough but i always find myself at least putting a little effort in whatever im doing.
ReplyDeleteI feel that some people just plainly don't like each other. You how some kids feel like there better then others and think that there too good to be there friends. I'm not pointing people out I just feel like thats been going on lately. I think we need to get over our snobbish attitudes towards others and start acting mature. Its okay if ya disagree with me on what I am saying, but like I said I just saying thats what I think should change. If it does then others will feel good about themselves and people will start taking this class more seireously.

I don't think you should be concerned at all. We've only been in this class for a couple of weeks, so it takes some time to get everyone warmed up to each other. I know my group had really good ideas and we listened to everybody and came up with a pretty cool poster. It may take some time to fully commit to this class, but I don't think it's an issue. We're on the page we need to be.
ReplyDeleteChristine Veit
I think that for some people committment may be an issue, but there are always going to be people who aren't committed for one reason or another. It might be that these presentations on the core things we need in our class will help, or maybe we just need to get to know each other better.
ReplyDeleteJessica Omark
I feel like you're always going to get students that aren't fully committed just because it's school and it's not important to them. I personally think that we just need more time to grow closer to each other and break the ice and i think doing these posters will help that.

I know that our group wasn't that productive in coming up with a finished product for our topic, but I thought that we got more comfortable with each other and that we got along well. While that wasn't the point of the activity on Friday, I think that it takes time for people to start caring about things. I think that for a lot of people, it's the first time that they've ever had to think about P.E. as an actual "class," because it was all just physical stuff. Yes, we have work to do, but I think that we might be heading towards something good. :)

Getting everyone to be on the same page will be a challenge. I think that it may be too early to really say that we aren't committed. Regardless, it's never too early to start getting everyone committed. I think in order to get everyone to b on thesame page, more emphasis and authentic enthusiasm in the adventure class should be put with our groups. _brenda. ^.^~!
ReplyDeleteThere are always going to be students who won't fully commit. However, our class is very large and it takes time and getting used to for everyone to be open and comfortable with one another. I feel like our class has been able to work well and cooperate with one another (especially with poster groups)..but though we are all willing to get to know each other and meet new friends, we tend to stick with out clump of friends. I think time is needed and trust needs to form for this team to work together.

I think some people don't take it seriously because for one it's school and its gym class. For me its hard to get used to new people right away. There's going to be cliques where ever you go and you just have to deal with it. Hopefully in this class we can all get out of our cliques and meet new people. I think we just need to get to know each other more and it will get better.

I think the activity was maybe unclear to some of the classmates, but then once they were well informed they knew what to do. Sometimes it's not easy to work with people you don't know but it's group work so we all need to pitch in ideas. I just think we need a bit more of time to get to know each other and things will eventually work out, and sometimes we all need to work as one so things could work(=

I think that some people dont like eachother and theres always people that dont commit. We should just give it time to warm up and get to know eachother better. It will get better, dont worry.

I think my group worked really well together in making the poster and everone contributed to it. Coming into this class, everyone has certain people that they're friends with and some people that they havent met before or dont like. It'll take some time for people to get over this. I agree that most people dont think of gym as a class, and are not used to having to work together in gym. Eventually, we'll probably get over this and start working together.

Mr.H, you are right some students didn't take this activity seriously, but it's not because we don't care is just that some of us don't know each other too well, we're still adjusting to each other this is a class where student's are supposed to communicate and be friends with one another but i know later on things well get better and the activities that we do we'll be more fun. Some students just need time to adjust to one another i know "i do" and even if i don't show it i actually enjoy some of the activities that we do, don't worry Mr.H our team well 100% communicate with one another sooner or later :)

I believe that everyone is working well together and we are all getting along step by step. Our bonds will become stronger and trust will not be an issue. Maybe this is too optimistic, but that's for you to decide. I see most people trying their best, and if they're not, they still take the activity seriously. Part of commitment is the act; the rest is mental. I say, if we have a set goal and purpose, our mindset will be straight forward. Personally, I really like the group activities as it brings out everyone's unique aspect and other people can act around that. Then everybody in the class will, hopefully, not be embarrassed and feel judged. I know a huge portion of life is individualistic, but what we will learn is how other minds think, so we can think that way too at the opportune time. Overall, the class will be committed to growth.

We have to get there at one point or another and I guess it's not time for us to be fully committed yet. Some people still have past issues with each other and they are not willing to get over them and others don't take this class as seriously as they should. Gym class isn't always associated with being on task and such and most kids think it's like a free period. Besides that, it has been only a few weeks and as a class, we're getting closer and eventually, we'll get where we need to be.
ReplyDeleteveronicaaaaaaaaa
I believe some people may not be committed and, obviously, others may. I think everyone has an understanding of how this class requires everyone to be a participant instead of an onlooker, it's just some people have better days than others and maybe there are some events happening outside of our class in a student's life that could be affecting how they work within school itself.
ReplyDelete-Patrick Witt
I feel that some people had the attiude that they didn't want to do anything and that it would be just done for them and that way of thinking is wrong. How you perform is what you get not what others do for you.
ReplyDeletePatrick Xenakis
At first people didn't want to do anything in the groups. As people started to get to know the people in the group things flowed more smoothly. There are always going to e the select few individuals who think that they can get by by doing nothing. Its a little strange coming from regular gym and going into Outdoor Adv. and having to do projects. It takes a little getting used to.
ReplyDelete-Jeff Thilmany
I think we are getting closer day by day, but still not all of them are committed to the class. For me it is kind of difficult to speak English to everyone, but I want to try my best to communicate with classmates.
ReplyDeleteYurika Shimizu
There is some kids who may not take this class seriously and realize what we are working towards. There are others who fully understand this fully, and then theres the middle section. I feel that there is always going to be this kind of bell curve, but as the days go on, I feel that the whole class will understand the goal of the class. Hopefully as the class continues, everyone will put more commitment in.
ReplyDeleteKara Priebe
As in every class in school, there are always going to be a few kids who dont really care at all about the success of the class. I think that the majority of the class is working well together. People are probably just uncomfortable because school just started and they might not know very many people so as the year progresses, people will hopefully become more confortable amongst the other people in the class.
ReplyDelete-MATT TURNER
I think that we should communicate more and get out of the comfort zone everyone has. Like me there are some people in class that don't talk much and those people including myself should start to talk more and get to know others and feel comfortable around the class. I think we will progress as the year goes on and start to talk more than they use to in the beginning.
ReplyDeleteDivya.K
I think that we just have to get used to the idea of doing actual work in gym class. Every year before this, gym was basically a joke. Once people realize that they're affecting the class by not committing, I think they'll come around.
ReplyDeleteNicole Janowski
I feel like our gym class still isn't a team, like we have cliques in our gym class that have yet not been broken. I also feel like some people don't try and just let the other people who actually care and stuff do all the work. I think we should take one full class peroid to go in a big group and say what we all truly want to say and how we feel and really build off of that and be serious about it.
ReplyDeleteI think that some people are willing to commit themselves to some areas of gym class and not others. There are certain things each person excells in and we cannot all be good at everything. I just think we need to keep pushing eachother.
ReplyDelete-Sam Shah
I believe that our class likes to break off into cliques. I agree with people above saying we need to work as a team. Although I do see us communicating alot better. As the year goes on I hope we can start working together better as a team.
ReplyDeleteChristine Byrne
I feel like there will always be people who won't want to fully commit but I think if we all continue to be open with eachother and continue to participate in ice breakers and team building, we can all grow and become more connected as a class
ReplyDeleteSamantha Noga
I agree with some of the people on here who said that some of us in the class just don't take class seriously. As the grade in the class doesn't affect our GPA, it can easily be seen as a blow off class. However, I think if we're able to prove that the class is more than just showing up and running that we'll be able to work together as a whole more easily. If even one person doesn't care, it's hard to work together.
ReplyDelete-Kate Brotz
I ALSO agree with the people who said that many of the students in our class dont take it seriously. We need to work on working together as a class and accomplishing our goals as a TEAM. YEEEEEAH SON!
