well at first i thought it would be kinda fun and i had an idea that could work so i tried getting people to do it then we combined our ideas together and then considering everyone was getting frustrated it on the second day i just let every other person speak up and say their own opinions. i feel like in this activities we have to focus on what were doing and not freak out about something stupid like that and we all needed to say what we should do in order to reach our goal.
We all need to listen to everyone opinion so that we can hear what they are saying?. Also that we need to focus on the Electric Fence game so that we can help each other to in this game also?
I think the idea that we had worked out well. We had to just in those who help us get over the fence without touching it the rope or fence I should say. I liked how we got into a big circle after we decided to start over again after me touching the rope. We talked about a new and improved way of getting us all over which I thought worked out well. I also liked how we were all honest about the rope and how even though we didn't want start over again. I did see as much frustration as the other times in the past which is good. I think we were doing a good job of communicating and trusting which are key things we need to have.
During the Electric fence activity, I think I contributed in sharing my ideas in some parts. Also, I thought I was contributing as a teammate of this team, our class by encouraging and physically helping people get across the fence. I wish that I had contributed more by involving others more and being more accountable for our class attitude as a whole. I think this activity is bringing a mix of values, emotions, attitudes, and challenges for the class. Though not everyone will be comfortable with our plan now..I think that we can encourage and help..build trust in each other to get everyoneacross.
Since the leaders from the amoeba activity couldn't speak, I tried to step up and get people to listen. I wanted us to focus on a common way of getting everyone over.
I tried to make people feel as comfortable as they could. I understood that many people weren't comfortable with the height, but I was hoping that people would trust me because I know how to hold people up safely and how to catch them if anyone were to fall.
The ideas my classmates had were really good. The first day we tried doing electric frence I just stood to the side trying to help the people get on to the persons back. Then the next time we tried I did the same and actually got over that time, I must say I was really nervous of falling but my classmates made me feel a lot more comfortable since they were all around. I think we did a good job in communicating with each other and we have started to build up that trust(: -Magaly H.
I helped out with people who were scared to get over. The second day I didn't do much, I was frustrated because I just wanted to get it done and over with. I listend to the ideas and followed through with what we all planned on.
I'm usually not the one to take charge and lead the class so for this activity i didn't really contribute any ideas for how to get over the rope. I thought that other peoples' ideas would work well but there were just a lot of people not wanting to go over. I contributed in that aspect of the activity by helping people get over their fear and having them get over faster.
well, the video isn't working for me but its okay because i was there to see it. lols. anyway, my contribution was to cooperate and listen to the ideas out there because i didn't know how to get people over myself. if people were confused, i explained to them what i thought we were doing. so yeah.
I was kind of confused about what we were doing at first and asked people, but it went rather slow because people had to trust others and it makes them uncomfortable. I think I should try and help move this along quicker but I have no idea how.Brenda_^.^~
My contribution was helping people get over the rope by having them climb on my back for part of the time, which required trust. I think our class is doing a good job and I think that we can get through this activity soon if we try a little harder. -Srinath Saxena
I didn't come up with the ideas for this activity, but I did contrubute by listening to the ideas being presented and encouraging a few people who were hesitant to go over.
I wasn't here the first day of the electric fence, so I thought that everyone else did a really good job of explaining what we had to do. On the first day I did it, I was really nervous, because I'm super afraid of heights... But everyone (especially Sam) helped a lot and I was able to get over without much difficulty. On the second day, I was more confident, and I wanted other people to be more confident, too, so I helped by letting other people who hadn't gone over yet to have a chance. Then, I tried to help by watching the rope to see if anyone had touched it (which is more difficult that it seems, because you really have to be focused). I don't know if I was the most contributing person, but I thought that everyone did a really good job. -words taste like peaches.
During the electric fence activity I contributed by listening to what our classmates are saying and helping people get through the fence. I contributed by telling what we where doing to people that missed school the first time we did the activity. I think we will get through the rope eventually because every one is helping each other encouraging the people to go through.
Well the first day of "electric fence", I was not allowed to talk. This was a struggle for me seeing that I do like to voice my opinions. However, I believe that this may have helped other students feel like they could step it up and let their voice be heard in class, whereas when it was me speaking, or patrick, or kate, or ally other classmates were sort of used to hearing us give out directions as to where the activity was going to lead us. The second time we did this activity I was allowed to talk, just not about the rope activity. It was easier for me that day but at the same time I stepped back again and watched the activity lead on. And, from what I saw, our class accomplished a lot. We learned to put trust in others and not just one certain group of people, which is a necessary skill in this class if we hope to have a successful trip at the end of the year. -Sarah Bogaert-
I didn't directly contribute ideas as to how to get over the fence, but I contributed by helping people get over their fear of getting over and by cooperating with the ideas that were presented.
During the electric fence activity, since the previous leaders couldn't talk I tried to step up and keep order and leadership in the activity. I tried keeping the group focused and motivated throughout the activity. I think we had a good base for our strategy and I think we are careful, we can get everyone across using that method. Samantha Noga
My contribution was to explain what we were doing to the people who didnt understand it. I didnt really help in coming up with the idea but when I had an idea I told some of the leaders and they took it into consideration and combined it with their ideas.
I contributed by listening to the directions of other classmates and understanding them well. I completely trusted my classmates in this activity. I think the communication part should have been better. If we freely shared ideas and thoughts on how to improve this activity, I think it would have gone smoother. I believe everyone on the class should act on an equal basis and not overpower anyone.
During this activity, I contributed by listening and cooperating others. I thought the ideas were good to go over the roap, but actually it was difficult than I thought. Some of people helped the classmates and encouraged them to go and I liked that. I think we can get through this activity next time. Yurika Shimizu
In this activity I just listened, but unfortunately I wasn't brave enough to get through the electric fence and I was afraid about hurting someone, even though Sam made us feel really comfortable to face this activity. I think we should discuss other methods and don't get stucked just in one.
I missed the first day when we did this activity so on the second day, I just did my best to understand what was going on. Asking others what I missed and paying attention to what everyone was trying to do.
I was impressed with how many people spoke up with ideas for this activity. We combined two solid ideas that worked out alright. I know there are a few people that are not okay with how things are going. I wish for those people to speak up, they could be really helpful.
I have to say i was impressed too because in the begining nobody would speak up but now that everybody's getting to know each other they're telling us their opinion. At the end peoples opinion's made us come with two good ideas which turned out to be pretty good.
