Trust Falls

Give us your thougts about how the trust falls went for you. How was this easy for you, or not easy for you? Why where you able to accomplish this task? What did you really get out of doing this activity? Why do you feel this was important for us to do?

  1. The trust falls were easy for me because I have no problems trusting my classmates and I have no fears of falling for experience. I was able to accomplish this task because of the cooperation of my team. Now, I am able to trust the class more and cooperate with them to catch a falling person. This was important to me because I feel safe now when I'm climbing or repelling.

  2. it wasn't easy at all for me to regularly fall into my classmates hands because i was concerned that i'd fall through. the time when we had to look back and count to 10 yadayada, i was really nervous, but i liked that activity better because it did really depend on trust. i trusted them and fell flatter than before. i feel a little better about our team now. i think it was important because we have to practice risking pain for trust of people, and we have to be able to fall from heights and drop with little fear. when people would not trust their team mates and look back, or fall bent, it didn't work out at all, it actually harmed them more. it's important and necessary to trust our classmates. i now know that the people in my team have muh back. Yeeeeh.

  3. I was nervous at first but I felt like I could trust my group to catch me and they did. infact they did an awesome job. I think doing this project exspands our trust to a new level. I feel at times where I'm not sure if I can do the task Mr. H gives us but with some encouragement I was able to get through most of the task. I also think that the other groups are doing good too. What works best for me is to close my eyes and follow all the direction that my group and Mr. H give. I thank my team for doing a good and for others who have encouraged me.

  5. Um.. I myself was very uncomfortable and hesitant with the trust falls. When we first did them, I did it from the lower block and was scared to fall. But as my group progressed through each day we did it, I felt that thought at times with certain people we had "trust issues" or difficulties as a group, it made our group be able to work harder together and have better communication. I think that this type of excercise is so awesome for our class! I really think that though in the beginning we all had our hesitations and fears but..with the encouragement from group members..it wasn't such a big deal to do after all :)
while I was falling when..I was up on the block it was ..not soo great but after falling I really felt safe.

Though some members in my group have not gotten to the step of being able to fall comfortably..I hope that through time and growing trust.. our group can do everyone :)

  6. I usually have a very difficult time trusting others, but for some reason with this activity I completely trusted everyone in my group. Of course I was a little nervous because we were falling from quite a ways up, but I knew everyone would have my back and wouldn't let me get hurt. I think this was the perfect activity to do to get our class to grow closer because we had to be there both physically and mentally for each other. I was so proud of my groups work especially because we got through the activity without anyone getting hurt and with catching everyone successfully.

  7. For me, it was easy and not easy. It was easy because all you had to do is trust your team mates to catch you while falling. The hard part was trusting and falling height. though personally I am afraid of heights, I decided to first go on the smaller one. When i did it wasn't a great experience because I was dropped, made fall, without doing the routine "are you ready/I'm falling/we'll catch you." despite this, the group caught me and I was in shock and frightened. I fully recovered the next day though. And after many successful falls, I believe I can trust wholly my group again and hopefully I can really get to enjoy or get the most out of a" true" falling experience. And I think this is important because then if we establish trust within us now, it'll be easier trusting them in much more dangerous falls, later in the year. __Brenda^.^~

  8. i think the most fun one was the counting and just falling back because i know theyll be there since i knew how my group was by getting there. i feel like it was easy in general because after the first fall i was fine with it. i noticed some people didnt go on the highest but they should feel encouraged to because of how well our group did. i feel like it was important because it made us all trust eachother more in the sense of doing more complicated things.

  9. The trust fall was pretty easy for me. I have learned to need to trust people in cheerleading, and it comes easily in situations like this. I felt that the activity was fun, and a really great way for our class to learn trust. I think everyone fell, and that will be benefical once we start doing other harder activities.

  11. The trust fall was really hard for me because I was scared of falling and it wasnt that I didnt trust my group. I was just scared because I am not such a light person. I was able to accomplish the trust fall because of my group encouraging me espescially jessica tell me to get it over with and saying we will catch you. I got out doing this activity that trusting each other is important and doing something out of your personal box. I think this activity was important for us to do because we have to trust each other fully to go on with other activities and to be more comfotable with the falling.

  12. I personally didn't find trust falls to be difficult at all. I presumed that no one was just going to let someone fall when everyone wasn't ready. I assumed that everyone had a general sense of what they were doing, so I was willing to trust them to catch me. I feel like I learned to trust my classmates even more than before because when my group caught me, they would immediately ask if I was alright, so they were concerned about me as a person as well. I think this definitely helped us build exactly what it states in the title: trust. We have to learn to be prepared to catch someone if and when they fall from different heights.

  13. I was really scared to fall at first, but once I fell I wanted to do it again. I knew my teammates could catch me and when it was one of their turns, they could trust me when they fell. I feel like i can trust this class more and it wont be as scary when we start repelling and such. Doing this activity was great for our class because it helped build trust in eachother.

  14. At first I was completely terrified of this activity. I think it may have been a shock to my group to hear that I was scared because I have been in cheerleading. I thought my group did a really good job with making sure everybody was physically and emotionally ready. In the end, I was so proud of my group because we accomplished a lot.

  15. At first I was nervous about this activity but I felt I could trust my team that they can catch me. This time we fall from higher place and I guess that made us fear. However, my teammates did a really great job. We communicated and corporated each other to catch the person safely. Doing this activity made us strong in inside and feel comfortable to trust others.

  16. This activity waesn't really easy for me because i kept thinkin of how they would drop me so it was kind of an issue for me. I accomplish this task because if everybody did it then i could too some people were scared and they still did it so it made me want to do it too. what i earned from this activity was trust i trust them to catch me and they did. This activity was important to us because if we want to get farther and to more fun activities we need to trust each other

  18. The trust falls were pretty easy for me to do because of the fact that I volunteered the first day to do it. It kinda gave me a confidence because I knew I wasn't going to be dropped anyway. I definitely trust the people in my group 100% now because they caught 2 people when I fell! I feel like this is important for us to do because even though it's not that big of a deal, it still amounts to something.

  19. In the first day of the "official trust falling", I was really worried and scared because I felt that our group wasn't well prepared for the activity; we weren't in safe positions to catch people and we weren't down to get it done. We had a couple accidents and it made me not trust my group at all. The enviroment was really heavy when Brenda was dropped and we all felt Mr. H disappointed with us. I decided I was not going anymore. The second day was less tough, and I finally decided to fall and be catched. I believe all went alright and after all it wasn't that bad. It was a nice experience!

  20. At first, the trust fall was kind of scary for me. After I went though, I trusted my group 100% and wanted to go again. I think activities like this are really important for our class because it takes you out of your comfort zone and lets you learn to trust other members of teh class.

  21. After we worked out the "kinks" from our first day of trust falls, I think the groups, especially mine, were able to enable trust more and we were able to communicate better as a team which made our trust falls more efficient and we were able to successful complete different phases of the activity. So overall, I think the trust falls as a whole were successful. It's really hard to put your trust in people, especially when you're relying on them to not let you fall to the ground. Once we were able to do that, it became easier knowing that your group was going to catch you and keep you safe. It's important to develop a sense of trust within a group of people, especially since we're preparing oursleves for a trip where you (Mr. H) may not be there every step of the way and we need to be able to rely on others in our class to make sure we are safe.

  22. Well the trust falls for me went alright I guess. Honestly I was really scared of doing the activity and like the first day we did it our group had two minor incidents and I wasn't sure I wanted to do that again. And the second time around it went really good I was glad things went better the second time. I think I was bale to accomplish this task thanks to the people in my group(: Everyone was super supportive and it gave me strength to do it!thanks to the people in my group. What I got from doing this activity was that I can really trust the people in the class, and I could trust the people im working with and it isnt so scary after all. This is important for us to do because we begin to trust our classmates more and more and like you said when we start jumping from higher places we must be able to trust the people we are working with in order for an activity to get done. And this will come in hand in the long run.

  23. Trust falls are hard for me to do because I do not trust other people easily that I do not know catching me. On the first fall, I only did it from the stage lower hieght, but on the second I was able to do it from the highest point. My classmates really encouraged me to try the higher height and I trusted them the most. Honestly I gained a lot of trust in my classmates and have no problem doing this again. This was really important to do because I think we can all trust eachother a little bit more.

  24. I was pretty nervous to fall at first but after seeing that my group caught me, I kind of got over it and started trusting them a lot more. My group was really encouraging towards the people who didn't want to fall from the higher block and we successfully got most of the people to try the high block which is great! I think this activity will help us trust eachother a little more for our next activity.

  25. Personally, the trust falls were hard for me, because I'm scared of heights and falling in any direction from any place that is not the floor. So falling back onto the arms of my classmates was not that fun. I didn't fall at all the first day, but I had to fall the second day. I was beyond nervous, and the first time I tried to fall, I had to redo it. Which sort of freaked me out more. But after that second fall, I was able to trust everyone in my group that much more. I especially trusted Veronica, because she was our guiding person, and for me, she kept me clam even when i was 4 feet up in the air. Thanks group 3 :)

  26. For me, the trust falls were really easy. We do a lot of activities like this in theater so it was easy for me to trust that they will catch me since I do trust falls so often. Also, being in the group on the side, we were really productive and focused during the activity, so it was really easy to trust them. I think it was important for the class to do this activity, because once we start climbing, trust will be a main factor when we are up that high.
