Have you had a chance to rappel down the wall yet? Tell us how rappelling is going? some things to think about, your group, the set up process, technique on rappelling and belaying, your safety, trust issues and anything else that you may have a concern with.
I didnt reppel down the wall. I am not exactly scared but just anxious. rappelling is going fine in our group we are setting up stuff and helping each other set up the process. If someone is scared in our group we encourage them by saying we will keep them safe and stuff. I am sure that my group will save me if loose my balance. I think I have a really fun and trusting group.

I havent had a chance to go down yet, but im excited and really nervous. It's going good though. Everyone who went got down alright. set up is ok except for the figure 8 that clips on to your waist. we always get that backwards. We trust eachother and know if one of us falls we will save them.

I rappeled down on Thursday, and I was kind of nervous before. But as i got over, and went down, it was pretty cool actually. The only part that was a little hard was jumping off the wall. I trusted my group and i think they did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI havent had a chance to do it. I trusted my team and i think they did a awesome job rappled some of the people in my group going.I think we trusted each other if someone falls in your group we will save them
ReplyDeleteYes, I have repelled. I did on the first day with the sub. I trust my team a ton. My team works really well together and so far, everyone in our group has repelled at least once. Our group is really thorough with checking that everything is safe and our group members are completely ready to repel. I hope that this week my group can start making sure everyone has a chance to try each job and try setting up and feeling comfortable with any position they take on.

I rappelled down on Thursday. I was really scared at first and didn't want to take off my hands from the bar. But my group encouraged me by saying they will keep me safe. The set up process is getting well and I hope everyone can rappel down safe and comfortable.

I got to rappel down the wall, and it was pretty fun. I definitely trusted the people in my group. They knew how to communicate to each other and let each other know what was going on. Set up isn't bad at all, but the only problem we've had is with the figure 8. We've gotten that backwards a few times, but I'm pretty sure we got it down now.

I have repelled at least twice and was scared, but I believe Im getting better each time. My group has been doing an excellent job of setting up and taking it down. I dont have anything to be concerned about my group. They all are awesome with working together.

I haven't rappeled yet. I'm a little nervous to go down even though I've already seen most of my group go down. I trust that my group will make sure I don't fall. We're pretty good with the setting up, we work well together.

I have rappelled and it honestly was an awesome feeling once I was done. My group worked well together when it came to setting up the equipment. I trusted my group and knew that they knew what they were doing. I wasn't nervous to rappel until I got over the bar. When I got over the bar was when it got real. Letting go took a lot of trust not just in my group but in myself. It was an awesome experience and I can't wait to do it again!

I already had a chance to rappel. It was super fun, at first it's extremely scary. Well for me it was! I don't think I had a trust issue it was just that when you're letting go of the bar it feels like you might fall but until the orange rope streches to its max thats when you feel safest. Im really happy with the members of my group, we work well together and we do good in setting up the stuff, everybody has done a good job going down the wall. :D

I haven't gone down the wall yet..but I'm excited to go tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteThings are going well for my group..I think that we are all trusting each other and are having a great time working together. I think that as a group we have been able to work together and set up the whole system ..doing each other's part and encouraging and pushing each other to go down the wall :)
I'm glad to have gotten closer with some people in my group..I hope that we can work together more and communicate too.

yes, i had had a couple chances to go down the wall. rappeling is soo scary. espically because i am afraid of heights! the scariest part for me is letting go of the railing and grabbing onto the ropes. as far as it goes with trusting my group, we all i fell completly trust eachother. we all know what we are doing, we all communicate with eachother, and we all feel safe. although im scared out of my mind, i do trust them.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the chance to rappel yet. In my group we are still slow at remembering how to do all the necessary things to be safe. So far it's going good though, I'm a bit scared.

I have repelled twice and felt safe and secure. I can't wait until we get to pick our own groups!

I have rappeled once and it was pretty fun. At first i was scared but now i know i can trust my group to accomplish the task at hand: getting people down the gym wall safely.

I rappelled last week, and it was awesome! The worst part for sure was letting go of the railing, but after that I was fine. Our group works really well together, we have good communication and we get along. I think we're starting to get a hang of all of the knots and other security stuff. We're so ready to send people upside down tomorrow! :)

I rappelled last week and I was terrified, because I'm afraid of heights. Our group was really encouraging, though, and I definitely trust everyone in the group. I think we get along pretty well and keep each other safe. I like that (for our group) we change up who's the balayer or the anchor or the safety, because then we know how to do everything instead of depending on other people to know what they're doing.

I rappelled down the wall a couple of times now and at first, It was difficoult letting go because it hurts your hand and you think you can't hold yourself up. But all goes well when it locks in and your in control. My group is amazing. We set up everything and make sure it's safe. We all know what to do.

I rappelled down the wall a couple of times already and is not getting that easy but i'm getting use to it because the more i do it the more quick it will be for me and easire. I do trust my group because we done a pretty good job, haven't dropped anybody yet and we give each other time if we need it or a pep talk. Some of us are still learning where everything goes but we still do a pretty good job.

sorry this is late. I was able to rappel a couple times. Right now I'm pretty comfortable and i trust the group that i am in. I personally think we're doing well even though there are still some things we have to improve on.

i like climbing in general and i thought it was fun i know i would feel 100% safe with just one person holding me plus i know my group is always making sure everythings correct and needs it doubled checked.
