Let us know your thoughts of this activity and what do you think will be the best way to do this activity the second time around? Example, read them yourselves, everyone puts their names on them and someone else reads them out loud. Or if you can think of another way this activity can have a system set up so that we can really rely on someone to talk to if we need to.
Yes i think it would be a awesome to do it again the second time around and listen to the another person read there story and then we can give this person advice after you read this story
ReplyDeleteNicole Scott :)
Yea it would be chill do it again. If we do it again though I think we should try to complete them within a certain time period (like a few weeks), instead of spreading them out in a few months because I forgot what I wrote and when it was read, a lot of things had changed since then and there was stuff I wanted to add. I don't think people should be forced to read their stories. The second time around people will probably be more comfortable reading theirs themselves if they want to.

FINALLY<3
ReplyDeletei think we should trust each other enough to read them outloud again, or we could read some random person's to another person and get their advice on the subj??
-christineveit
I think they should be read within a certain time because a lot of things do change. I also dont think people should have tho read theirs outloud. Putting our names on them and having someone read them would be fine i guess.
ReplyDelete~Priscilla Grimm
I think we should do them again but maybe have everyone say which one is theirs or if they dont want people to know then that is up to them if they want to say so or not.It is a great way to express yourself.
ReplyDeleteAmanda Cizek
I think we should either read our own or have someone else read ours and then after after responds to it, we tell them whose it is.
ReplyDeletePriyal Amin
I think doing it in a certain time frame is a good idea. I don't think we should have to put our names on them or read them ourselves. I feel like we might lose content.. if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we'll get to do a round two of this though!
Christine Byrne
I dont mind whatever way we read them.
ReplyDelete-Srinath Saxena
I like the concept and we should do it again because hearing the under-story of some of the people in our class (even if we don't know whose it was) helped me to respect everyone a little more. I think that putting our names on it, but someone else reading it would be a cool idea.
ReplyDeleteMaggie Swofford
I liked the activity, but I agree what was said, we should definitely get them done faster, because a lot had changed from the point I wrote it and now. Other than that, I think reading it ourselves would be a good idea too.
ReplyDeleteSamantha Noga
I think this was a good activity but we definitely have to get them done faster. Some things had changed from when I wrote mine to when it was read. I think if you want to read yours out loud you can but if you don't want to you can just have someone else read it.
ReplyDeleteChristina Greenbaum
I'm really glad we finally got to finish this activity. I really do think it brought us closer as a class. I also think it would be very beneficial to do this activity again, but hopefully we could dedicate more time to it instead of waiting so long like we did this time. I think having everyone read someone elses or their own would be a good change.
ReplyDelete-jessi j
I think we most definitely should do if you really knew me a second time.
ReplyDeleteI think though maybe we can read them out loud.. like you do..or it doesnt matter who..but
that maybe we can write notes..
or have us write comments to them. Cause i think it is hard to say things infront of a group..
and plus the person can go back to the notes for enouragement and if they need somene to talk to.
-Tiffani Chang
I'm glad they are done. I liked the activity because I feel it really helped us all opened up and know it was a trust worthy enviroment. For the next time, I would say we should have our names on it and have another person read it for us. This way we have to trust the person, and we won't be nervous to read ours. I also agree that we should do them faster because a lot of things will change.
ReplyDeleteKara Priebe
Ah finally they are doneee! I liked this a lot since it was really deep and got our class a lot closer to each other. Knowing there are people there for you definitely helps the trust aspect to the class. As for the next time, we should read them on our own since they are from our perspectives. They don't have to be that deep and intricate, but definitely be meaningful.
ReplyDeleteVeronica Kozaczka
I wouldn't mind writing another one. I do not think people should be made to read it out loud though. Some things do change from then until now And i think we would benefit from doing them faster.

In my other gym class, Mrs. Baldassano had read the papers, asked the class who could relate, people would comment, then she would ask if the author would like to be known. if the author wanted he/she would raise their hand, if not, no biggie. i think after hearing what other people say, the writer may change thier mind on if they want the class to know whos it was or not. i liked it because i didnt think i would tell people it was mine but after all the things people said, i felt comfortable enough to share that it was my story and people came up to me after class and hugged me and said more nice things. it just made the whole experience that much better.

I thought this activity was a great way to feel a little more comfortable in this type of class. I think knowing a more personal side of people is a great way to help others to realize what kind of environment they must set. I don't think that students should be forced to read their own the second time. I think that even though we become a lot more comfortable with each other through them, we don't become completely comfortable to share some of our most personal information with everyone.
ReplyDelete--Patrick Witt
I thought this was a good activity for us to do but it took waayyyyyyyyy to long to get them all done. It was a great way for us to know each other on a deeper level even if for some of them we didn't know who the paper belonged to. I think the second time around we do them you should have them like upside down or something and we can choose a random one to read. Not sure, but whatever way we do it i'm fine with it.
ReplyDelete-Magaly H.
For the “If you really knew me” activity, I feel like it was a good activity to learn about everyone in the class in a deeper form. For the next time around, I think we should do like a more positive one. Like what good has happened in our life, and then read them our self. I mean yes sure we can have some sad parts in it but I feel like we know so much upsetting things about everyone, that we don’t know the good side and that’s good to know.
ReplyDelete-Katie Dusek
We could read our own, but then I don't know how personal people will be with what they write. If someone wants to say something really personal, they should be able to write it without having to worry about people knowing it is them. Other than that, I think the system now is fine because people can say that it is theirs if they want to.
ReplyDeleteGrace Neubauer
I liked this activity a lot because people were so open and I'm able to better understand where people are coming from in our class and the issues that people face every day. But I think that if we were to do this activity again, we would have to do something that would force people to push their boundaries in order to make it worthwhile. So maybe we could have eveyrone share one personal fact about themselves which they would read to the class. This way we are continuing with the idea of If You Really Knew Me while still changing it up a little.
ReplyDeleteJessica Omark
I felt this activity was great to know each other and made us close. However, we took very much time on the letters so maybe we should gone more faster. Next time, everyone would be comfortable to read themselves and I do.
ReplyDeleteYurika Shimizu
I thought the "If You Really Knew Me"'s were a good way to learn about people and get an idea of what they have been through. I dont think I would have the balls to read mine so we should just let people chose weather they want to read theirs or not because Im sure Im not the only one who doesnt want to read it. I liked how some were personal and some people admitted what ones were theirs. I LIKE THE MYSTERY.
ReplyDeleteAlly Manade
I also thought that it was a good activity to learn about our class, even if we didn't know who the specific individuals were. When we do them again, I think it would be cool to have a limit like word/character/syllable count or something to make things more... interesting. And possibly speed up the process. I also think it would be cool to assign other people to read each other's "if you really knew me" papers.
ReplyDeleteEunice ! Jun !
I'm looking forward to having a second round of if you really knew me papers. Not knowing whose paper it was made me aware that everyone has a different situation and a lot of them I could relate to in some way. The next time we do it I would like more people tocomment on the papers. I really wanted to corny but I wasn't sure of the right words to say so I'm sure everyone else felt like that and a second if you really knew me papers would help give everyone a chancery participate.
ReplyDeleteBrenda ^_^
I think this activity really helps us to understand each other.
ReplyDeleteI feel comfortable if Mr. H reads our papers, and if some people want to tell who they are, let them tell their names.
I think that the papers should be read within the first couple of weeks they are written, because moods and mindsets change. I like Mr. H reading the papers, but I wouldn't mind putting my name on it. Although some of the super personal content may be lost, I think it will help people open up and feel more comfortable with the class. -Justine
ReplyDeleteI think we should do them again because it seems that people got closer to one another and some know that they're not alone with what they went through because some of us went through the same thing. If we were to read them ourselves i would be very proud of us to take such step because it took courage to write their "if you really knew me" either way i would really like to do this activity again.
ReplyDeleteMaddy R
I thought it was awesome! The whole class got closer to one another and possibly brightened up. People can truly relate to each other without hiding anything. "If you really knew me" could've been shorter because climbing is funner. Maybe try to be quicker and set a minimum for each day.
ReplyDelete~Khory Wagner
i feel like we waited to long to read them and it didnt seem like it was us even writing them anymore i thoguht they were a good idea and im excited for the next
