Obstacle course

Share your thought with us about today's activity. Consider the following, but you are not limited to these things. Trust issues, your responsibilities, the leaders responsibilities, communication, respect, being blindfolded, why did you choose the leaders you chose? Over all how was this activity? What did you like about it and why? What did you learn about yourself and others in your group?

  1. I think this activity was so much fun!For trust issues I think we are pretty good with trust and there wasn't much trust issues. As for responsibilities its kind of hard because you need to make sure everyone can hear you and you need to make sure nobody gets hurt and all that can get a little difficult.Being a leader was..interesting.I think that it was kind of hard because you're trying to be careful with everyone and just trying to get everybody to get through a set of the course. For our group someone just asked who wants to be leaders and two of us raised our hand and that was that.I liked it because I got to help them and because I've never really been leader so its something different, I kind of didn't like it because I think I kinda sucked at being leader but I don't know :P Something I learned about myself is that I need to raise my volume because my voice was kind of low and that I need to remember that they are blindfolded and not say "turn that way".jaja. As for the others in my group I've learned that they know how to work together and they work well and that they are good listeners[:

  3. I really liked this activity. It was fun and it was a good activity to know my group members more and just go through an obstacle course together. I think trust wasn't a big problem for us. We listened to their words and asked questions if we needed..they encouraged and help us go through it. Being blindfolded was quite difficult.. with the different obstructuress and obstacles and stuff..it was really hard trying to keep balance on some of it.. and figuring out what im doing. Picking our leaders wasnt something special and hard.. we just asked if anyone wanted to and they said they did hahaa. It was pretty simple.
I think definitelyy we are learning to communicate with one another better.. I think before we had a hard time talking or actually really getting to be more than just a climbing group but slowly we are being more comfortable and open to one another.

This activity really depended on our leaders to encourage and guide us and teamwork cause we needed to help each other to get over certain obstacles and each other to know how to follow. It was really great. My team did a great job and my leaders talked loud enough and clear enoughh! :)

  4. I thought this was a great activity. Our group took the slow and steady route, but it worked out well. Because we completed it.

I was a leader so our group put all of their trust into our hands, that Matt and I would would keep them safe(and we did with the exception of a mat falling on Sarah!) But as leaders we made sure that each person felt comfortable and knew what they were going to have to do. And we encouraged them and gave them confidence to complete the task.
Communication was key in this activity as was trust.

I think was I was chosen as a leader[I hope!] because my group thought they could trust me and that I would lead them through safely.

  5. I thought it was a great way to spend a friday. It was really fun and relaxing. I knew that the leaders were not going to let me get hurt so I just tried to do everything the best I could. It seemed as though when blindfolded, everything is longer and higher up so it did make me nervous at some points. Knowing that there were two people watching out for everyone who was blindfolded helped though.

  6. I think it was a fun activity over all. It was fun to be a leader for my group. I think the trusting part people seem to be a lot better at it since the begining of the school year. My group did a nice job at this activity.

  7. Well our group chose the leaders by who didn't want to be blindfolded. So it worked out quite well because 2 people didn't want to be blindfolded and they were great leaders! I enjoyed being blindfolded, I like putting trust to the test and in this case it turned out for the better! I'm glad we did this activity, it was challenging and fun. It also better illuminated the bond our group has made with each other in a positive way.

  8. Well, my group chose its leaders because we were both medically incapable of actually patricipating in the physical aspect of the activity. I'll admit that we both made the mistake of saying things like, "Go here," and whatnot. The activity was pretty interesting to see how much we have improved on communicating since the beginning of the year.

  9. I thought it was a lot of fun and it shows how far we have come in the communication and trust aspect. We all trusted our leaders to guide us even though some parts of the activities were tricky. We picked these leaders because we thought that they would do the best leading and the rest of us were comfortable completing the course. This worked out well and our leaders never put us into any danger. We have all come together in our group to trust each other and I feel that we've learned to also trust ourselves.

  10. This activity was great, especially being a leader. It was challenging giving directions to my blindfolded teammates. I learned to be very specific because they couldn't. I believe that some of my group members need a little more encouragement, that I'd be willing to give. Also, we as leaders had to be cautious so that we didn't lead our blindfolded teammates to danger. We weren't chosen to be leaders, we just volunteered. It was different more random.

  11. i wasn't really sure why we did this activity, and i still am not quite sure..i know that myself and some of my team mates were really scared. it's tough not knowing where you are and what you are doing, but i don't see how that relates to climbing. i understadn the trust aspect, i trusted matt and priyal because they know whatsup. lol, ...it took our group a while to get thru but we eventually did.

  12. I think this activity was something i really needed. it pushed me to trust people more than i have been. i was really hesitant at first to be one of the people with the blind folds but after i was done i was so proud of myself that i did it. matt and priyal were great, they definetly comforted me when i was freaking out about going over the wall. i would def do an activity like this again.

  13. I really enjoyed Friday's activity because it was pretty exciting. I didn't think it was that scary being blindfolded because I trusted our leaders to help us make it through alive. We chose our leaders by asking who wanted to do it, and those that did volunteered. Overall I think it was good for our group because we bonded even more and realized that we can trust each other.

  14. I liked this activity a lot because I think it showed our whole group how well we can work together when we need to. We communicated well with each other, and made sure to get everyone through safely. When we all took the blindfolds off, it was fun to see that even though the obstacle course looked really difficult we all got through it.

  15. I liked this activity a lot, it was very fun and i trust my group 100% and they know i do. we didn't excatly choose the leaders but we still knew we were in good hands Eunice and Jack were always carefull and thinking how would we get to different stations neither of them let any of us fall and they were pretty good at explaining us where excatly to go.
What i liked about it was that i got to be blindfolded and i didn't know where i was going, it was new having our eyes closed as a group i enjoyed it and our group was having fun that was the best part of it. It waesn't so scary we actually wanted to do go through all the stations and at the end of the day we all knew we can trust on another.

  16. I thought this activity was great to trust and help each other as a group. I had fun with everyone climbing, swinging, crawling, and following the teammates. We chose leaders by asking who wants to do it. They did really well guiding us to get to the goal. I was scared of blindholded but I trusted my team and I learned how important to listen and trust them. This activity was a great experience for us.

  17. I feel like my group didn’t have any trust issues. We communicated well, and got through it pretty fast and safely. I don’t know what it was like to be blind folded, but I think as a leader, my partner and I did a good job. We just chose 2 leaders; we didn’t really have a set reason as to why we picked them. Overall, I thought this activity was fun, and I like that the lights were off. I learned that there defiantly needs to be trust in each member in your group, and there has to be good communication skills.

  19. The activity was great because the blindfolded people didn't even know where they were and what they were doing. It was very random and you had to use your senses alot. Keeping balance was the hardest part. You definitely had to trust your team leaders. Also, you have to use communication with your teammates in your line and with the leaders. I really liked climbing over the wall. Afterwards, not being blindfolded was a good experience because you can realize and actualize what your team really did and it didnt seem so difficult.

  20. I thought this activity was fun. It kinda brought back funny times like when we did blind fold trust activities earlier in the year. I noticed that we can trust each other enough to encourage us to get through all of it.

  22. I really liked this activity because we had the opportunity to switch up leadership roles. It was pretty crazy that us 3 girls got through that obstacle course keeping in contact the whole time. It was very interesting that with 2 people, 3 of us could get through that challenging of a course with blindfolds on. It was a creative and fun thing to do (:

  24. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to do the activity on Friday. What I do know is that after our many weeks of climbing, I really trust my team members and myself. -Justine Venegoni

  25. Well, I was not here for the activity but reading through these I can tell everyone had really positive things to say about the activity. I also can tell everyones trust level has increased drastically since the beginning of the year and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun with the activity.

  26. I think my group can definitely trust eachother. My group's leaders were pretty good at leading us through the course. It was weird being blindfolded but it made us rely on eachother more. I think we should do more activities like this, it was really fun!

  28. I really enjoyed this activity! It was very hard to go through those obstacles, but I did because I trusted my teammates. I learned that the communication was the most important thing to do to build the strong team and to trust each other. I want to do it again.
